Rijiju reportedly assured the delegation to give necessary instructions to the state Govt for immediate implementation of TAH project.
A copy of the representation was also submitted to Union Road Transport and Highway Minister for necessary action.
MLA office inaugurated amid protest

DAPORIJO, Sept 21: The MLA office of Dumporijo assembly constituency was inaugurated by former MLA Larbin Nasi amid strong protest by All Tagin Youth Organization (ATYO) today.
While addressing the public, Nasi informed that conversion of the old Inspection Bungalow (IB) into MLA office was a purely temporary arrangement and for the convenience of public. He clarified that there was no any ill intention behind the conversion of IB into MLA office.
However, the members of ATYO strongly protested it by displaying placards and banners during the inaugural function. Later, the protestors were dispersed by police and CRPF personnel.
ATYO alleged that the protesting youths were mercilessly beaten by police and CRPF personnel in front of a magistrate. The organization demanded an inquiry into today’s incident by the higher authority.
Meanwhile, Tagin Cultural Society while condemning the unfortunate incident appealed to both the parties not to exaggerate the issue.
Home Minister Tanga Byaling also appealed to every NGO, student union, association and senior citizen of the area to discourage any kind of provocative issues which may lead to breach of law and order.
“We should think for the greater interest of the society and promote communal harmony instead of fighting each other,” he said.
The office inauguration function was attended, among others, by the local MLA and members of All Dumporijo Constituency People Welfare Society.
Arunachal SBA introduces ranking system for players

ITANAGAR, Sept 21: Arunachal State Badminton Association (ASBA) for the first time has introduced ranking system for players of various ages and categories to identify their playing standards.
As per the ASBA rankings, Laa Yajum holds the number one spot in Women’s single category while Jokom Ribya is ranked number one in Men’s single category.
The pair of Pinki Karki and Taring Yania is ranked number one in Women’s double and the duo of Ambita Sonam and Rahul Thapa is ranked number one in Men’s double category.

While releasing the rankings in a press conference at Press Club here today, ASBA Secretary Bamang Tago called upon the players to take up the sport seriously and practice hard to perform better. He informed that all the ranked players would be trained by ASBA from tomorrow and some of them will be selected to participate in the North East Zone Inter State Badminton Championship to be held at Guwahati from October 16 to 19 next.
ASBA Joint Secretary Dilip Gurung was felicitated on the occasion for his outstanding contribution for promotion of badminton in the state.

Residents adopt resolutions to make their area garbage free
ITANAGAR, Sept 21: The residents of Ward No. 18 under Itanagar Municipal Council in a meeting convened by the Councilor of the Ward have adopted several resolutions to make their area garbage free.
The meeting decided to construct dustbins in various locations for proper disposal of waste materials. Plastic dustbins will be provided to each and every household by the councilor.
The meeting adopted resolutions prohibiting pig farming, bamboo plantation and late night motorcycle riding creating noise pollution within Ward No 18. It further resolved that strict action will be initiated against those who are found involved in any ‘illegal’ activities and NOC must be obtained from Ward Councilor for any construction and earth cutting.

Mother of three burnt to death
ITANAGAR, Sept 21: One Gyamar Rupa, mother of three children, was burnt to death in a fire that broke out in their house at Upper Damsite, Naharlagun yesterday evening at around 7.30 pm, informed Naharlagun Police.
Fortunately, her three children somehow managed to escape from the fire that completely gutted their house.
Naharlagun Police registered an unnatural death (UD) case and launched investigation, police said.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.

A genuine comparison
Dear Editor,
In today’s world of modernization, which is development driven amidst growing population, the role of private and public sector seems to stand at different level. Let me emphasize here the difference in the efficiency of private and public educational institution in providing quality education. What I find most intriguing is the perception of general public that the private institutions are best in offering quality education. Going through the newspapers one can see the ads for post of teachers in private institution. Most of the teachers are hired in such school on first come first serve basis. Such institution do not bother about the qualification of the applicants. No rules are laid by any nodal body regarding the minimum qualification of teachers to be appointed in private institution. While to be appointed as a teacher in government school one must clear the TET/CTET/SLET or any equivalent qualification. However, ironically average students in private schools outperforms their counterpart of government schools in examinations. Although the reasons for such anomalies are diverse. One of the underrated reason is that government school teachers are lacking in their moral obligations towards the society as a teacher. Their prime duty is to teach students and involve them in the process of learning to the best of their capability. I fear that Govt. school teachers are taking the home tutor as their replacement. They don’t bother whether students understood what he/she taught, thinking that they can learn from the home tutor or say tuition. Amidst this those who suffers are the poor parents. Affluent parents, who can afford don’t think twice about it. But poor parents have to reshuffle the whole month’s budget. So in the best interest of the society this difference should be bridged by directing all the factors responsible in proper direction.

Through your esteemed daily, I would like to request the Director of Agriculture and the state government to kindly release the salary of ATMA functionaries as per the new guideline released on 3 March 2014.
The ATMA fund has already been received from central government and it is supposed to be delivered to district level within the fortnight of receipt of fund from Centre as per the rule but we are yet to get our money.

Declare results
Dear Editor,
Through your esteem daily let me write the aggravated feeling erupting among the aspirant candidates who are waiting for their written examination results of Constable (Tax & Excise Department). The department conducted Physical Test and Written Examination 2 years back in 2012 but still there is no declaration of results even after a huge gap of 2 years.
So my question to all the authority and the concerned department is why they are taking 2 years for declaration of result? What is the intention? Why a game of hide and sick is being played with the poor unemployed youths. Therefore, I request the Chief Minister Nabam Tuki and his government to direct the concern department to declare the result of the Written Exams for the post of Constable (Tax & Excise) as soon as possible.

A grievance
Dear Editor,
With utmost respect to our reputed public service commission, I would like to place some grievances in your esteemed daily. For many students like me belonging from financial unsound background sole hope is APPSC.
But from the last few instances our thread of trust towards the commission is weakening day by day. I want to highlight few points about the recruitment of lecturer conducted by the commission last month for the government polytechnic colleges. Since for getting a job for an engineering student in our state is like an undertaker play, one needs everything. So in hope of getting a better job in teaching profession, with lot of hard work we qualify GATE for pursuing Masters’ degree in technology in a good college. But alas! After analyzing the whole process of interview we found that it was not that technically inclined, instead the stress was more towards the general awareness and personality.
I wonder how a person with good general awareness can teach technical subjects. Also there was no value for masters’ degree and many other aspects which are given due importance in the recruitment of lecturer were not taken into account which other state commission does.
Therefore it’s my utmost request to the commission to induct teaching oriented candidates. And please do give some weightage to their degree, number of paper published in the journals, paper presented, conferences attended, etc which are the most important aspects a lecturer in engineering college must possess. If the faculty are efficient so as the students will.

Do not create deadlock
Dear Editor,
The recent controversy over the leaked paper and the idea of the mass movement sounds
alluring. However, the course of history has proved time and again that mass movements
are difficult to sustain, because every individual has limited resource and time-
Other thing is that the ends must be realistic and should not be like “all must resign” and means must not base on “I don’t believe in nonviolence”. The concerns should be on how to find an efficient solution to the issue and not creating a deadlock. It should not come under the illusion of heralding a revolution by redemption of the Commission out of the corruptions. That is of course an important issue but too big an issue at this moment. What is needed is a quick and efficient solution to the issue.
Moreover the way Youth took up the issue though commendable and credible is embedded
with gross flaws. They should have at least let the exam to continue. Their concerns
were genuine but they could have at least waited for a week to see the official response.
It is the democracy that gave them the right to protest and complain; but they themselves
ignored the very democracy which provides them the opportunity, by not allowing the
law to take its own course. The problem was mainly about one paper which could have
been easily dealt with by “making it qualifying” as one suggested in the same paper.
But it turned out to be like chopping up the head instead of taking a pill for a
headache. The argument that same thing might have happened in other paper though
is a point-
